Compassion @ The Castle: Exeter’s Summer Vegan Fair
Saturday 10 June, 11am-9pm
Jointly organised with Exeter Friends for Animals, Compassion@the Castle is being held at the iconic venue of Exeter Castle, in the heart of the city, offering a vegan twist on a traditional English summer fete.
• Vegan market (11am-5.30pm)
More than 40 stalls featuring ethical traders and compassionate charities – food, cosmetics, fair trade clothing, ice cream, free food and drink tasting and much more. We even have a vegan barber if you fancy a haircut!
• Four fabulous caterers
Mouth-watering dishes from around the world – Indian food from London-based Shambhu’s; unusual Ethiopian dishes; burgers and hot dogs; and a (mostly) cold buffet from local favourites Fairfoods.
• Talks and demonstrations
Your chance to learn more about various aspects of vegan living, plus a demonstration on how to make your own soft cheese. There will also be a short, special tribute to Animal Aid’s much-admired ex-Director Andrew Tyler.
* Vegan cream teas (2.30-4.30pm)
A dairy-free version of the traditional west-country treat with homemade scones and cream!
• Evening barbecue (6pm -9pm)
With a bar featuring a special Vegan Festival of Britain real ale and great music from The Dillyboys and Fiddlers on the Green
We are sorry, but dogs are not allowed in the Castle buildings.
There will be regular updates on the Facebook event page.
