This is not about one single big event. Our idea is to pull together and inspire all the boundless creativity, talent, energy and commitment within the UK vegan community. Whether you are a business, cook, part of a campaign group, or an individual vegan, please do get involved.
We want you to ‘do your own thing’ during the three-week Festival. From special events and promotions to vegan street parties, dedicated restaurant menus, online innovations, shop promotions and sponsored events, right down to individuals inviting their neighbours over for a meal or a slice of cake – we want everyone who supports the vegan ethic to take part.
Whether big or small – register your event here.
WHAT’S IN A NAME – THE VEGAN FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN
As historians (or very oldies!) amongst you will know, the Festival of Britain was organised in 1951 to celebrate the possibilities of a peaceful and exciting future after the hardships of World War II and its aftermath. Its aim was to ‘inspire thoughts for a better Britain’.
So our (very loose!) parallel theme suggests how veganism can offer the opportunity to move from the dark and barbaric world of animal slaughter and irrational use of resources towards a brighter, healthier and more humane future.
